Animal Charities are always in need of donations. Donations can be money, food, toys, or even time. Having donated in animal facilities before, I know how much they need people to help clean out the pens, or just play with the animals.
Who Can Donate?
Anyone can donate to animal charities! Check with the facility you’d like to work with. If your willing to sign a waiver, there are jobs for all! I love bringing my daughter to volunteer. She loves animals and they love her. It’s a perfect match.
What Can I Donate?
Use your imagination when donating to animal charities. Do you have pets? What do you need for them? Are you donating to a domestic or wild animal organization? What you should donate depends a lot on the facility and the cause your donating for. Call your local facility. As much as you’d love to donate food, your facility might feed all of their animals the same food, so that might not be helpful. They might love a donation of toys, or leashes, or water bowls. Every facility runs differently. To make sure they get the most from your donation, call or stop in. They’ll appreciate the extra effort and your donation will make more impact.
Where Can I Donate?
Donations to an animal charity can be made in many different ways. Call your local facility and offer to donate time. Stop by your local pet store, and buy a few extras. They usually have a donation box. Search online for your favorite animal charity and donate money. Train to be an animal rehabilitator, and help injured wildlife heal. Be creative. Set up a charity fundraiser event or adoption event. Contact local groups like the Girl Scouts who might be interested in volunteering time and help coordinate it. Offer to be a home for sick animals while they get well enough to be adopted or be a night sitter for puppies too small to be left at the facility by themselves overnight.
How To Research a Charity?
I have a few recommendations below, but if you have a charity in mind, make sure you research it well. First things first, Google it! By looking up your animal charity online, you’ll be able to see their website, and you’ll be able to find reviews. You’ll get to read details about the work that they perform and see if it lines up with your values. Be careful, not everything is always as it seems, thеrе аrе реорlе whо will try to sсаm уоu bу showing you саsеs оf suffеrіng аnіmаls tо rаіsе уоur sуmраthу lеvеls and then ask you to donate. Research, research, research.
